Runner's World looks at Kipchoge's win in the men's race as well as Cheruiyot's win in the women's race. If there was any questions that Kipchoge is the Greatest of All Time (GOAT) in the marathon this should take those questions away. Check out his personal bests (PBs) and you will see he is fast from 1500m to the Marathon. Here is another article that asks if he is the GOAT. Toni Reavis wrote on this with regards to the marathon requiring both speed and endurance
Toni Reavis also looks at London and asks the questions with regards to Racing or Pacing. I get his point and personally would rather see a race but I don't think it would not have mattered with regards to who won as Kipchoge would win either way.
